The first thing to note in the 2022 Jeep Renegade model series is the new redesign. Jeep has rendered a new attire to this much-talked-about SUV model for the year 2022, to satisfy the demands of the market. Therefore, in 2022, the Jeep Renegade is back with yet another stint along with some notable feature changes, in many of its departments.

When we asked for details, the cordial staff members of the famous Niles Jeep dealer furnished us with the following:

Changes to Observe in the 2022 Model Year Edition

For 2022, Jeep continued to present its most talented SUV model Renegade with the Sport and Latitude trims that now receive a more tech-oriented cabin with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display unit as standard that is built with a GPS tracker.

On the other side, the range-topping Limited trim dresses up with a few new exterior design cues. They include a newly crafted front grille, a pair of new fog lamps and 18-inch wheels, and a newly introduced Altitude feature package, to pep up the already impressive performance to the next level.

Apart from all these standard sets of features, the 2022 Jeep Renegade model series of compact SUVs equip both its Limited and Trailhawk trims with some lucrative features listed among the optional. To start with, we can take the example of the Convenience Group Package that bundles up higher comfort features like power-adjustable front seats with heating facility, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with the heating feature enabled, pair of automatic rain-sensing wipers with windshield wiper deicer, and many more. Likewise, if you sign up for the optional Trailer Tow Group Package it will enhance the towing capabilities of the 2022 Jeep Renegade models by installing a four-pin wiring harness as well as a Class III towing hitch. What more? Jeep has also introduced a new Altitude package for the year 2022, in the Renegade models.

Changes at the Powertrain Front

For the year 2022, Jeep has made some important changes in its flagship compact SUV model Renegade. The manufacturer has discontinued the earlier base 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 engine and replaced it with the 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine. It is also now the standard powertrain component set up across the entire series. Another noteworthy change done for this year is the standard 4WD setup offered on the Limited trim while the Sport trim will continue to come configured as an FWD model as standard. However, Jeep allows you to upgrade it as a 4WD set up for an extra price of $1,600.

Coming to the performance side, all we can say is that, the 1.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine runs the 2022 Jeep Renegade models with a respectable 177 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque, after teaming up with a 9-speed automatic transmission with a front-wheel drivetrain. This combination comes as standard on the base trim while the 4WD setup is set as the standard on all trims except the base one, informed the sales department of the Niles Jeep dealership.
